The annual Burning Man festival has opened its gates… or doors… or whatever it is that stops people just walking into a desert for six days of arts, music and spiritual awakening.
Part of ‘modern’ festivals is a way for those unable to nab a ticket from the ballot to still get a look into the madness with Burning Man once again offering up a live stream of this years festival.
Although we haven’t seen any naked people or many outrageous vehicles we have spotted a guy on a unicycle and well, that’s pretty damn great!
Those that really want to see something cool should hop online for the two biggies with the giant burning man structure set to go up in flames on Saturday at 9pm PDT and the temple the following day on Sunday at 8pm PDT.
This years theme was ‘Caravansary’ something Burning Man described as;
For centuries, Silk Route travelers crossed paths in caravansaries, bustling caravan stops offering more than just shelter from the desert wilderness; they were vital centers of cultural exchange, bringing together traders, pilgrims, monks, nomads, traveling entertainers, and wild-eyed adventurers from all points of the compass to share their stories around a common fire.
Watch the stream below but be sure to hit ‘play’ on a mixtape or something as the live cam so far is just silent. While your at it check out Israel’s own version of Burning Man and see how it compared.
Hopefully they’ll plug into the beats coming out of the Robot Heart that usually sees an all-star cast of house and techno-nauts kicking it as they were in 2012 with Jamie Jones, Lee Burridge, Damien Lazarus and co.
Update: OK the stream is back and things are getting really weird now. Also the cam is loaded up and streaming live from ‘the department of mutant vehicles’ on-board with the ‘rave mach 1’ which is driving around catching all the antics – cool!
