Motor City Drum Ensemble has delivered an absolute monster of a Boiler Room set from a muggy looking afternoon at Dekmantel Festival in Amsterdam. Taking it old school, MCDE put some needle to wax and fed the very lucky crowd through an E&S DJR 400 hand-built rotary mixer, whilst more importantly displaying his incredible musical knowledge by providing tune after tune (after tune).

Opening with a funky euphoric jam courtesy of Sonny Jenkins + NY Potpourri Strings, he establishes the standard of the set very high early on. From here he goes from strength to strength, with each track surpassing the other, be it a tasty groove, funky disco jive or the occasional banger, it really has got everything needed to get you moving. The only issue we have with it, is the fact it is cut about 10 minutes short, what the hell happened?!
