Today a tech icon and revolutionary DJ brand turned 20 celebrating the first ever purpose built player, the Pioneer CDJ-500 having been released all the way back in 1994 and kickstarted what is undoubtedly a fearsome legacy!
Each following year Pioneer released both new and refreshed bits of kit including the DJM-600 mixer featuring independent faders and four channels before the real game changer, the CDJ-1000 hit the market in 2001 that kept in line the original concept of emulating the ability to scratch in similar fashion to a turntable while also harnessing technological advances.
From there Pioneer have continued to steadily impress by offering quality club ready gear with CDJ-2000s a standard for nearly every venue around the world and a request on all tech riders. Check out a quick trailer below or hit the Pioneer site for a full 20 year history!
