Following on from his ‘Overwatch‘ EP back in January, Britain’s Soular Order has teamed up with Aeuria for their remix of acoustic singer/songwriter gone producer, vocalist and collaborator Jay Rodger‘s ‘Moments of Silk’ for City By Night. Along with a beautifully calming original, the remix EP – featured below for free via their Bandcamp – features an ambient remix by Bruised Skies, who adds haunting vocal builds and constant envelopes of guitar licks to make this a subtle yet heart-wrenching version of the original. But the release highlight comes in the fusion of power and sensitivity by the two dubstep dudes, who re-write the original into a deep-yet-jaw-dropping bass-inspired stepper; they bring the low-end up while still maintaining the distant vocal of Jay Rodger, making this a beautiful piece of electronic music.
