Weekend benders just got a little duller with the official announcement that The Abercrombie is set to shut in January, meaning the Sunday kick ons in Sydney at scuzzy party S.A.S.H is no more due to building developments in the immediate area surrounding central park.

The Abercrombies manager told the folk over at Pulse Radio;

“We’re shutting down due to the development going ahead around Central Park. They’re going to be building a big commercial shopping mall around and above us,”

As a venue The Abercrombie was a clubbing gem that often toted some of Europes best as well as a consistent run of local parties. The closure will be a sad farewell to a modern party icon although four more parties will run through the tail end of January starting this Sunday with Guti live.

Word has it the S.A.S.H parties will relocate somewhere else in Sydney, but we’d have to ask if it’ll have the same allure as the dingy pub feel we’ve come to love.
