Sebmann – Shtun [Nineteen89]

Since their last release from Crypt (who I interviewed here) back in July, Nineteen89 have switched up the sounds and provided a murkier vibe to once again prove that they are a record label without boundaries. Sebmann‘s ‘Shtun’ EP is set for release on the imprint November 18, and with support already coming from the likes of Night Slugs co-owner Bok Bok as well as B. Traits, the two sub-heavy techno-infused tunes are guaranteed to vibrate your chestplate.  The title track rolls on a journey into a realm of pure analogue sub-pressure, laced with a slight 2-step groove that knocks the track straight into the centre of the dance floor. Flipside, industrial percussion and a solid kick throughout stipulate the backbone of ‘Kase-2’, with a bassline reminiscent of early Ed Rush & Optical, complete with the ambience of the ghostly New York subway.

Remixes come from rising new school stars Lleska with his drum heavy version of ‘Shtun’ and Viers‘ techno rolling edit of ‘Kase-2’. Peep!
