Looks like those rumours of an ‘EDM’ Dance Music Awards show are true with a ceremony planned around EDC Las Vegas next year.

Of course it’ll be Pasquale Rotella’s newly minted Insomniac Events that’ll be teaming up with the gang behind the Golden Globes for an evening of awards that looks to praise and recognise the forces within the dance music world.

It can be said though that dance artists have been on the receiving side of the spotlight with more noticeable accolades at both last and this years Grammy awards that saw Skrillex squash unusual nominee Al Walser and also take out an additional two awards.

The show must go on though, here are five categories we’d like to see for the awards!

1. Most (real) Facebook ‘likes’
2. Best ‘EDM’ Fist Pump
3. Best Serato Face
4. Best Twitter Banter
5. Greatest Online Beefs
