Electronic music pioneer and all around rad guy Giorgio Moroder has remixed Coldplay’s latest single ‘Midnight‘. For Coldplay’s 6th studio album they went with the Italian legend that has recently stepped back into the limelight, and after developing his sound in the 70s with synth-based performances and productions, Moroder caught the ear of gen-y after appearing on Daft Punk’s latest showing of ‘Random Access Memories’.

Giorgio’s eight and a half minute rework of Coldplay proves disco prowess in a gentle blend of Coldplay’s signature sound and Moroder’s analog roots. Appearing in a hymn to the dance gods, this track really opens up with the choir halfway through. Teaming up with a massive pop name like Coldplay solidifies Giorgio and electronic music’s seat at the table.
