6 Big UK Tracks From The last 6 Months

The UK seems to be leading the charge for stunning dance and electronica with a recent swathe of singles breaking local charts and generally being the go-to for consistently low slung bass ridden jams!

We’ve pulled together six of the best from the past six months to really show the global flex UK based music is having in the dance world.

1. Disclosure – White Noise feat AlunaGeorge

“White Noise” feat AlunaGeorge is the first single from Disclosures forthcoming record that really cemented the duo’s production prowess and upped the ante in anticipation of ‘Settle’. This sort of felt like a given.

2. Bohdi – Culture

There’s lots of talk that Bohdi and well, UK dance music is falling into a pattern of sorts. Those piano samples, 4/4 etc etc but what Bohdi has done with “Culture” is chop up the usual piano sample into something different making this feel like something we can most definitely get down to.

3. Duke Dumont – Need U (100%) feat AME

Around the time that Dubstep wobbled towards its demise and Trap started blowing up we needed a decent gargle of a club banger, “Need U (100%) featuring AME was just that. It blended a pop chorus/verses with a dancefloor rhythm we’d all been waiting for. Our love for the Duke never ends!

4. Gorgon City – Intentions

Gorgon City’s “Intentions” was the follow up to their rather sharp introduction “Real” and reminded us these guys can actually produce.  Many similar patterns to “Real” but hey, when you’re onto a good thing why change?

5. Rustie – Slasherr

Rustie stands alone with his melodic stacked productions and “Slasherr” is yet more head dipping, swing low badassness! The change up in tempo’s and sounds will see Rustie continue to innovate dance music!

6. Close feat. Scuba & Charlene Soraia – Beam Me Up (George Fitzgerald Remix)

Bit of an all star affair for Close’s “Beam Me up” featuring Scuba and remixed by Irish professor George Fitzgerald! Of all the track we’ve posted this and Rustie’s “Slasherr” stand apart, this, more than anything. It’s a bit techy, it’s a bit house, it’s a bit good!
