Yet another Tuesday has dawned on us, and as the radiant Sun brings light into the day, we at Stoney Roads bring you another instalment of our weekly Music Charts. This week it is my turn! For those who are unaware of this weekly tradition, basically one of the many writers we have behind the scenes of Stoney Roads are given their own special Tuesday where in which we post the top 10 songs we’ve been listening too over the past week. The tracks can be new or old and as obscure as we want, because its whatever has been pleasing our ears and we want to share them with you all!

If you haven’t had the chance to hit up the past three charts, I strongly recommend you check them out. Kish’s top 10, Sandro’s Top 10 and Hi’s  Top 10! they wont disappoint you, and they may introduce you to some tracks you haven’t even heard yet.

Enough delay, Here are my Top 10 tracks of the week!

Destiny’s Child – Say My Name (Cyril Hahn Remix)

Its rare to see the name ‘Destiny’s Child’ here on Stoney Roads, but this remix by Cyril Hahn just hits the nail on the head and leaves the pop divas’ original version for dead! Its terribly catchy, take that as a warning, and the vocals are superb (and definitely don’ty sound like Beyonce).

Major Lazer – Watch Out For This (Bumaye) Ft. Busy Signal, The Flexican & FS Green

This is a killer early release from MAJOR LAZER’s highly anticipated yet delayed sophomore album ‘Free the Universe’. Much like their other songs, the track showcases some groovy Rastafarian vocals that are lit up with the support of a dope moombah drop. This could possibly be the highlight of my week!

ETML – Bind Me (Prod. by Taneli)

This guy is pretty fresh on the dance music scene, but he has seriously delivered with this track. I give cred to my fellow Stoney Roader Alessandro for showing me this tune, which posses many of the same qualities that DISCLOSURE’s massive club hit ‘Latch’ also had. Smooth vocals, huge drop. Its hard not to want to jump around like an idiot when that housey drop wobbles in.

Major Lazer – Original Don (Flosstradamus Remix)

This track doesn’t really an introduction, but after my trip to Melbourne to see the Floss tear up CANT SAY nightclub I have found it hard to get this trap anthem out of my head! There is not much more you can ask for in terms of trap than this song. the second drop in this tune is what does it for me!

TNGHT (Hudson Mohawke x Lunice) – Chimes

While we’re on the topic of Melbourne, I also had the chance to see LUNICE (one half of TNGHT)  perform at the Revolt Art Space which has caused me some serious bass withdrawals that are easily treated when listening to this track. if there was ever a sound that could move your bowels, then ‘Chimes’ is the closest thing.

Spencer and Hill – Cool (Afrojack Remix)

This is an oldy but I still believe its a goody! ‘Cool’ always finds its way back into my recently played list on iTunes, and for good reason! That deep house drop in this track is a jaw dropper and I’d die a happy man to hear this get dropped in a festival set-up.

Bondax – Gold (Snakehips Bootleg)

The piano, the vocals, the electro breakdown. This remix is close to perfect. This is my lazy Sunday arvo track.

James Blake – Retrograde

This is the first release from Blake‘s second coming album ‘Overgrown‘ and the vocals are just spot on. I would put money on the fact that this guys voice could bring a whole army to tears, and with the addition of a real unusual electronic sound throughout the track, the song just encapsulates what I love about this guy. Excitement levels for his album are over 9000!

Azealia Banks vs. The Strokes – Barely Legal

This is a real fresh one from Banks, and its quite unlike her usual tracks as it seems she has taken the role as a singer as opposed to a rapper in this track. Regardless, Azealia Banks always has a unique and dancey backing track  and this song is no exception.

Daft Punk – Aerodynamic

With all the Daft Punk hype surrounding the music scene of late, its hard not to have at least one of their timeless tracks ringing though your head! Aerodynamic is by far my favourite tune to come from the guys in the helmtets. 2013 will be a good year for dance music I believe.
