Charts Week 3: Hi’s Top 10

We’re here! Another Tuesday and another Stoney Chart. Each week see’s a different Stoney Roads writer share 10 tracks that they have been listening too throughout the week, new or old.

If you have missed either of the first 2 weeks charts I seriously recommend you check them out! Week 1: Kish’s Chart and Week 2: Sandro’s Chart were full of awesome music. Toro Y Moi’s “Say That” takes the cake as my favorite but there’s 19 other gems that are well worth the suss.

Alright now… Where do I begin, this year has already seen so much great new music and its barely even begun! Some of my favorite producers are busy preparing albums and ep’s for release later this year and great remix’s keep popping up from local and international artists alike. I think its safe to say 2013 is looking like a great year to be a music lover!

Hot Chip – Look At Where We Are (Major Lazer Remix)

This Remix has been kicking around for a while now, but it wasn’t until earlier this week when Major Lazer announced the Delay of their album that it made its way into my iTunes. Lazer Strikes Back vol 1 is a free download consisting of 4 remix’s available here http://t.opsp.in/s08cS. The Major Lazer Remix of Hot Chip’s “Look At Where We Are” is the one for me.

Kavinsky – Proto Vision

Yesterday Vincent Belorgey aka Kavinsky released his debut album “Outrun”, it features 8 new tracks as well as 5 favorites from the Testarossa driving Frenchman. I’ve always thought “Nightcall” was the standout but I can’t go past a car chase so “Proto Vision” had to make it into my week’s chart.

Classixx – Holding On

The latest track from L.A dudes Classixx is my feel good jam for the week, its impossible not to have a smile on your face when this one’s playing. Super funky bass line and airy synths make this a really dreamy track. Coincidently another cool driving video.

Chromeo – Bonafied’ Lovin (RAC Mix)

Chromeo are back in the studio working on the follow up to their 2010 album “Bussiness Casual” I have always been a huge Chromeo fan and at Field Day in 2011 was lucky enough to catch their live show. “Night by Night” and “Don’t Turn the Lights On” are two of my absolute favorites but the RAC Mix of Bonafied’ Lovin always gets me groovin’

Flume – Left Alone ft. Chet Faker (Ta-Ku Remix)

Flume, Chet Faker and Ta-Ku are 3 Aussie’s kicking goals all over the place at the moment. The Ta-Ku remix of left alone is seriously good stuff! Flume and Chet Faker have recently got back in the studio together, lets hope its not too long before we hear another collaboration from straya’s favorite sons.

Short Stories – On The Way

Glasgow producer Koreless teams up with vocalist/producer Sampha for the “On The Way/Let It Go” ep. Signed to “Young Turks” (the same label as “The XX“) it’s their debut as Short Stories. If you’ve listened to SBTRKT  before you might recognise the soulful vocals of Sampha on this one.

Boys Noize – Ich R U (D.I.M Remix)

Last year Boys Noize released his debut album “Out Of The Black”. The German producer will be bringing his live set to Australia in March as a part of the Future Music Festival. The D.I.M remix of Ich R U is an unexpected favourite for me.

Mike Metro & Benson – In The Ghetto (Loot & Plunder Remix)

A few weeks ago Melbourne bro’s Mike Metro & Benson whipped out “In The Ghetto” with a couple of remix’s provided by some Adelaide neighbourino’s Loot & Plunder & Motez. Loot & Plunder have pulled through with my favourite remix of the release. Its straight up pelvic thrusting, clubby house music perfect for the weekend dance floor.

Lou Reed – Walk On The Wild Side (Rocco Raimundo Extended Edit)

Fresh from Flight Facilities 1972-1982 Mix this edit from Rocco Raimundo is pure gold. At nearly 10 minutes this ones perfect music for a lazy Sunday in the sun.

Dune Rats – Red Light, Green Light

This one is a little out of the ordinary but the Dune Rats boys are killing it at the moment. Brisbane dudes Danny and Bc have just released their latest single Red Light, Green Light. It’s a seriously rock’n track and the “Green Version” Video for the song is the perfect way to finish up my top 10.
