Get Ready to Rave: Pinterest’s Latest Report Predicts a Surge in ‘Rave Aesthetic’ for 2023

If you’re a fan of rave culture and fashion, you’re in luck – Pinterest predicts that this year could see a significant spike in this trend. The platform’s annual report also predicts a rise in superfoods, front doors, mushrooms and other bizarre interests. However, it’s the anticipated growth of rave culture and fashion that has caught our attention here at Stoney Roads.

According to Pinterest Predicts, “rave culture will reign in the year ahead,” with significant increases in searches for;

  • House music outfits (up by 185%)
  • Berlin rave fashion (up 250%)
  • Rave party aesthetic (+35%)
  • Techno style (+60%)
  • Music mixer (+115%)

“As Gen Z and Millennials recover from over two years in lockdown, they’ll take over nightclubs, warehouses and house parties all over the globe,” Pinterest predicts. “Techno style, rave fashion and house music outfits are all trending up.”

But it’s not just fashion that’s expected to see a boost – searches for “rave party aesthetic” rose by 35%, while “techno style” increased by 60%, and “music mixer” rose by 115%. Pinterest, which has 445 million users worldwide, claims to have correctly predicted 80% of its previous four annual Pinterest Predictions.

According to the report, “Gen Z and Millennials are reigniting their love for rave culture and its signature aesthetic. People want to find inclusive, freeing spaces where they can let loose and dress however they like.” Rave fashion is just one of 27 reported trends for this year argued by Pinterest, alongside “primal workouts,” “romcom core,” and, of course, “walk-in showers.”

Pinterest attributes the science behind its trend predictions to “months of expert analysis.” “Trends on Pinterest sustain monthly growth for 21% longer than trends elsewhere on the internet.”

If you’re interested in the full report, you can read it here. As for us, we can’t wait to see how this predicted rise in rave culture and fashion plays out in the coming year.
