Soulwax drop wild acid remix of Wet Leg’s “Too Late Now”

Soulwax, sometimes known as the eclectic 2manydjs has to be in the upper echelons of remix gods with their latest, an acidy take on Wet Leg’s “Too Late Now” only further securing their status.

Honestly, whatever they have touched over the years is a proper intensive reworking of an original into it’s own thing while still complimenting the original artists work. Think Tame Impala, Justice, LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire, New Order and so on.

Those not familiar with Wet Leg think purely indie fuzz often with a slappy bassline, angelic vocals and fuzzy guitar stuff that has made them ones to watch in 2022.

When it comes to the remix, legitimately, this thing could send any dance floor into a frenzy and based on the comments found by numerous fans when it was played as an unreleased number at Primavera last month.

It turns out it is the first-ever remix of the band and it is a whopper with the results so far from the original it’s almost its own behemoth and again, a testament to the vision of Soulwax when it comes to defining a remix.

What remains is a slamming set of hats, a repeated and filtered vocal and head-slapping synths punctured left, right and centre stretched out to a plump six and a half minutes.

This has certainly jumped into our top three Soulwax remixes alongside their take on Tame Impala and Marie Davidsons’ “Work It” which is a certified banger.
