Those heading out this weekend have a special opportunity to enjoy a part of the city lockout free since their inception five years ago that put some pretty heavy restrictions on Kings Cross and Oxford Street.

Anyone who finds themselves heading along and checking out this years Mardi Gras will be excited to know that for the second year running it’ll be lockout free along Oxford Street and surrounding areas including bars and venues such as the Burdekin Hotel, Oxford Arts Factory, Cliff Dive, The Flinders and Stonewall.

That means you’ll be able to get into a couple of your faves past 1:30am but unfortunately won’t be able to grab a drink past the usual time of 3:00am (can’t have it all right?)

At such an important crossroads in NSWs nightlife with restrictions on how late we can go out, unreasonable crack-down on festivals, likely implementation of 1000+ CCTVs cameras and more we’d encourage everyone to get out there and have a good time safely!
