Sydney siders JV & Palf have released a new EP, Wren which is lighting up radios across Australia. The Liveschool alumni have been releasing separately for a while but have come together for their EP on October Records and it’s something special.

There is nothing accidental about any of the rhythm and tracks from the EP. Finely chosen in depth and precision we get introduced to Don’t Stop which entrances you to well balanced low end kicks and tribal percussion. More serious in nature, JBNT crafts menacing grooves with the distinct UK wubs next to concise drum fills and snares you know any good outdoor rave would be all about. Coming to a crescendo of dense and steamy percussion, the track Gully fills your ears in an Amazonian way to round out the EP.

Fate is a funny thing and JV and Palf being around each others music seems to be just that. The EP’s description saying, ‘JV and Palf were already fans of each other’s individual work – JV releasing under Plantlife and Palf under IljusWifmo – before meeting at a warehouse party in 2013. From there, they started sending tracks back and forth to each other online until they finished one song, which quickly turned into the Wren EP.‘
