The #AskforAngela safe space initiative now has NSW Police backing!

You might remember we ran a story not too long ago on the #AskforAngela campaign being picked up in the UK and pushing its way into Aussie clubs.

Well, after successful trials by Police, the AHA and Liquor Accords in Wagga, Albury, Orange and Byron Bay,  it has now been announced that it’s an initiative the NSW police force and government will be throwing their weight behind in the Sydney CBD.

The idea is that if someone is uncomfortable on a date at a participating venue discretely asking the staff for “Angela” will get them help to be escorted to safety or have the relevant authorities contacted.

We think this is a helpful step in what can sometimes be an uncomfortable nightlife scene. Is this something you’ve ever felt the need to use? Tell us what you think about the initiative below!
