A new helpline has been launched this month, aimed to assist people in the Australian music industry battling with their mental health.

The Wellbeing helpline is a free and confidential service that, as Support Act CEO Clive Miller explains, has been started “in direct response to requests from our colleagues working in music to help improve overall mental health and wellbeing.”

He added in a press statement that “Based on our consultations and research, we believe that a specialised service specifically tailored to the unique challenges faced by artists and music workers will be of enormous benefit to all people working in our industry.”

As members of the Australian music industry, we’re thrilled to see this service up and running, with the UK having also launched their own service last year in Help Musicians.

The helpline has been made possible by The Tony Foundation and Levi Strauss Australia, and as mentioned above, it is totally free and confidential. The number to call is 1800 959 500.
