After building a stellar arsenal of quirky club heaters over the past few years, eccentric Sydney producer Clypso has returned once again with her first single of the year ‘Middle Ground’ featuring Sydney’s own Kwame. Trading in dense synth hybrids and club-ready rhythms for a slower dancehall vibe, ‘Middle Ground’ may be her most devious track yet.

Beginning with a loose reggaeton groove consisting of organic percussion and dense bass, the track develops into a laid-back affair of chirpy vocals contrasting with deep bass. The track then takes a sudden turn when Kwame’s verse comes in, boasting a bed of rapid-fire chords and sharp vocals. With such a unique track coming from the mysterious producer, one can only anticipate more summery caribbean grooves in the future.
