JOY. breaks hiatus with new single ‘Smoke Too Much’

Wondering where JOY. went? Well she’s here now with a big pop jam that oozes out fun vibes. Her first solo release since 2015, JOY. is coming off the back of producing tracks for 360, Manu Crooks and Anfa Rose, as well as a support slot for Khelani earlier this year to build up some hype for her new release. Rocking her own sets as Listen Out and Vivid, she’s ready to take on the role of a superstar.

The track bounces and pops as the beat rocks a solid groove throughout. It’s hypnotic and ethereal, perfect accompaniment for her soft-spoken vocal performance and lucid melodies. The pianos are a gorgeous touch and add a really warm tone to the feel of the music. This is one of those cases where the advantage of being your own producer to your tracks is proven, as she just rides her own production so perfectly and it sounds very cohesive. This is a tasty slice of electro-pop, and if you’re into Chvrches or Purity Ring, make sure to give this a gander.

Her upcoming album will be released soon through Sony Music Australia, and we’re excited to have more fine electro-pop like this to vibe out to.
