There’s a Glaring Omission From NSW Latest ‘Violent Venues’ List

Liquor and Gaming NSW have released a media statement that has one glaring omission that’s got us scratching our heads.

Released on Friday the 26th of May, the NSW state government run organisation has released their latest statistic in coordination with NSW Police reports.

They’ve released the following information;

Level 1 venues – 1

(Venue, Location, No. of incidents over 12 months)
Ivy SYDNEY 36

Level 2 venues – 14

Home Nightclub SYDNEY 17
PJ’S Irish Pub Parramatta PARRAMATTA 16
Sydney Junction Hotel HAMILTON 16
The Sunken Monkey Hotel ERINA 16
The Eastern BONDI JUNCTION 14
The Grand Hotel WOLLONGONG 14
Northies – Cronulla Hotel CRONULLA 13
Pontoon Bar SYDNEY 13
The Pyrmont Bridge Hotel PYRMONT 13
Coffs Harbour Hotel COFFS HARBOUR 12
Hotel Orange ORANGE 12
Narellan Hotel NARELLAN 12
The Coast Hotel COFFS HARBOUR 12
The Mill Hotel MILPERRA 12

Are we going to talk about the elephant in the room? Is the NSW government forgetting The Star casino’s Leaked reports unearthed by the ABC reveal that violence at the Pyrmont location is actually three times worse than they claim.

In 2016, violent assaults between March and August weren’t reported to the state government and hence were not documented. Out of 111 incident reviews covered by the report, police were only called to 36. 36 as a minimum! Doesn’t this make them a level 1 venue and on the naughty list?

Do you think it’s fair that The Star Casino is exempt from this report?
