Discogs just hit a massive milestone. We’re talking millions!

Online music marketplace Discogs have announced another significant milestone, with the music database now counting over 5 million artists, 1 million record labels and not to mention 8.5 million records on its books.

CoS reported that a staggering 26,000 records are released a week, with contributors to the user-generated platform reaching almost 355,000 at the end of May.

Discogs is fast becoming an unparalleled recording archive, and their goal to become “the biggest and most comprehensive music database and marketplace” well on its way.  In the last year, Discogs have officially launched their hardware marketplace, mobile app and even revealed their most popular music format among buyers for a bit of fun.

Safe to say they;re killing it , and for good reason.
