It was almost a year ago that Winston Surfshirt busted onto the scene with an impressive feature on Polographia’s ‘Sly’. From there the only way was up for the six-piece, catching the notice of local label Sweat It Out, and touring reps Astral People & Niche Productions, all due to their first release ‘Be About You.’ With a debut national tour slowly creeping over the horizon, it feels only right that we should get a sequel, this time called ‘Ali D’.

“It’s a daunting thought putting out a follow up single to our first ‘Be About You’, ‘Ali D’ seemed like the perfect option from what was sitting in the pocket. She’s kind of like a big sister to BAY, gives you the same sort of feeling and she’ll make you dance when you don’t want to. Ali D all the way baby!” – Winston

‘Ali D’ showcases the same energy and groove that the group had running through ‘Be About You’, but in a much more downplayed and subtle way. If ‘Be About You’ was a track heard at the start of a party, ‘Ali D’ is the smooth finisher.
