Stormzy Just Donated £9,000 To Help A Student Go To Harvard

You love him for his music but this will only better your opinion of Stormzy, with the London MC donated a whopping £9,000 to help a student go to Harvard University.

London local Fiona Asiedu kicked off a crowd funding campaign to raise £12,000 in order for her to complete a nine-month Masters degree in Human Development & Psychology at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. A hefty amount for most of us, but not if Stormzy has a soft spot for you, it seems, dropping 9K on the campaign just like that.

Naturally, Fiona was over the moon with the donation, taking ti Twitter to express her gratitude: “I am extremely overwhelmed by what has happened in the last 24 hours. I just want to take this time to express my sincere appreciation to every single one of you who contributed towards the campaign.”

With a serious roll on in her campaign now, Fiona has decided to up the target amount and says that any money raised over £14,000 by June 11 will go towards a foundation she’s setting up to support “black British students from low income families who secure a place at Oxford or Harvard.”

Stormzy – who was recently immortalised in the way of a giant mural – will be heading down under in July for a nationwide tour and Splendour In The Grass. Read more on the SITG lineup right here.
