Stranger Things’ Season 2 Soundtrack Will Be ‘Darker And Weirder’

With Netflix rolling out the teasers for the second season of their hit series Stranger Things, what better time to pick the brains of the group behind the soundtrack?

Austin based synth-pop band S U R V I V E are the utter legends behind that spine-chilling score/soundtrack of season 1, and will be bringing those nostalgic vibes back for the forthcoming season that premieres on Halloween.

In a recent interview with The Vinyl Factory, the band confirmed “things are going to be a bit darker and weirder” as the characters “are going to spend a little more time in the Upside Down this season.”

The band also made mention that they have been working on their sound a lot, with the help of their growing collection of modular synths, and that “our songs are very much a long, sculpted process of adding and subtracting. I would hope that sonically they have a texture or a tone that would make S U R V I V E sound different than a band that plays in a similar genre.”

You can read that full interview here. For now, revisit that chilling theme song below and give the soundtrack a listen here.
