Towards the end of January, Icelandic artist Ásgeir released his first track in over 2-years, with ">Unbound.

The haunting release has already received massive kudos from fans and artists alike, and for good reason. Ásgeir’s chilling vocal range and instrumental finesse has been heavily missed during his hiatus, a voice that literally swept Australia when his second album In The Silence began spinning on triple j.

This live rendition of Unbound, recorded at Hljóðriti Studio, really flaunts Ásgeir’s voice, stripping the track right down while holding us captivated with his powerful, and awe-inspiring vocals matched with calming piano that acts as the foundation.

‘Unbound’ is the first taste of his highly anticipated new album Afterglow, which is set for release on May 5 via London imprint One Little Indian.
