Sydney Artist Creates Aus Dance Music Inspired Artwork For A Good Cause

A local artist has created an exhibition of artworks that are entirely inspired by Australian dance music.

The exhibition, dubbed AuralVis Vol. 1 (Aural = Sound, Vis = Visual), is the brainchild of Sydney designer/artist David Porte Beckefeld, who has utilised a musical influence from the likes of RÜFÜS, Mall Grab, Flight Facilities and Kllo among others to create vivid, eclectic designs that portray his cognitive response to each track.

On top of this, the exhibition is all for a good cause, with each artwork being raffled off to attendees and the proceeds going to an Australian charity.

Speaking on the event, David says his “inspiration behind the exhibition is to celebrate local sounds interpreted through my hyper coloured art style for a charitable cause.”

“I’ve always felt throughout my career as a visual artist and designer that I don’t directly benefit any humanitarian efforts compared to that of a doctor, nurse or vet etc, so I wanted to channel my creativity into something positive, that yields a tangible result.”

AuralVis Vol. 1 is taking place on Wednesday, Feb 1, at Goodspace Art Gallery in Chippendale. You can find out more on the event including the address on the Facebook event right here.
