Queensland Lockout Laws Dropped In Place Of New ID System

Queenslanders, it’s time to celebrate, as the impending 1am lockout laws have been declined in place of a new identification system to monitor drunkenness.

This exciting news broke overnight following the reports that QLD Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk was in agreement with her government to “water down” the lockout laws, as the most important issue in her opinion was the rollback of alcohol service hours.

In place of the lockouts, a new ID system will be initiated on a trial basis, allowing clubs and pubs to monitor patrons more accurately, weeding out the regular trouble-makers and keeping tabs on banned punters.

This system will successfully punish the idiots and let the good people party. A much better solution in our opinion.

According to Daily Mail, venues will be able to input data into the system but will not be able to retrieve it, as all input data will be kept secure by the government as their way of patrolling and assessing the state’s nightlife.

Unfortunately, down south in New South Wales, we currently can’t even hold a rally without it getting canned by the authorities. Thankfully our Keep Sydney Open rally will be taking place next month! Here’s hoping QLD can lead the way with this one and we follow in their footsteps.
