Musica Copa Lock In 2016 Tournament Date

There are many things that coincide with the first little taste of the Summer sun. Children’s laughter is heard echoing through the streets, bins are filled with licked and checked Paddle Pop sticks, and Musica Copa is once again right around the corner.

For those unaware, Musica Copa is the Australian music industry’s charity soccer tournament, where teams from all over the country and the industry come together to raise money for charities of their choice. It’s raised over $30,000 since it first started in 2013, and the new partnership between it and Sydney’s Electronic Music Conference should mean there’s even more cash going to some very worthy causes (a list of which you can check out right here). The number of teams has almost doubled since 2013 too, with a total of 21 competing this year.

Audipaxx, BMG, Falcona, FBi Radio, Future Classic, Groovin The Moo, I OH YOU, inthemix, Lucky Ent, Ministry of Sound x Mustard, MTV Australia, Mushroom Group, Pandora, Pedestrian, Red Bull Music Academy, Select Music, Sony Music, Sweat It Out x MAKER Agency, UNDR Ctrl, Universal and WME Entertainment will all be showing off what they can bring to the field, covering all different areas of the industry too. Oh and we haven’t even got to some of the players yet! Aside from industry members, there’s a whole bunch of artists competing, almost big enough to make up their own festival. What So NotNina Las Vegas, Paces, Swick, Montaigne, Dena Amy, Motorik Vibe Council, Third Floor, Klue, Winston Surfshirt and members of Set Mo, I Know Leopard and The Delta Riggs will all be there, with plenty more still yet to be announced.

It’s all going down on Friday the 2nd of December, at the KIKOFF soccer centre in Marrickville, from 2-9pm. It only costs 10 bucks to get in, which is a steal of a price and a great donation straight to charity. Throw it in your diary, and follow all the action at Musica Copa’s website here. Look forward to seeing you there!
