Premiere: Baytek Storms Out of The Gates With His ‘Rise’ EP

It’s official, Spring has definitely sprung. This weather has been crazy gorgeous as of late, and with daylight savings on the horizon (ohmygoodness), we need some seriously hot tunes to match just how much it’s heating up.

With that in mind, it’s our pleasure to premiere the brand new EP from up and coming local legend, Baytek. He’s come a long way since he started producing at 14 and signing to Wollongong based Unknown Records in 2013. With his ‘Rise’ EP, he’s completely cementing himself as a heavyweight of some of the bassiest house we’ve heard in a very long while. While bass house is a name that immediately triggers preconceptions about the genre’s sound, Baytek has crafted a number of tracks that are interesting and involving to listen to, as well as banging hard. From the swirling darkness of ‘Deadbeat’, to the strength of ‘Change’’s female vocals alongside some almost future-dubstep synths, and finishing on the hip-hop stylings of ‘FWYT’ – this is a release with plenty going on. On top of all that, Baytek’s managed to sprinkle some pretty monstrous breakdowns and drops on top for good measure- oh dear.

No doubt fueling the fire of some beautifully late Summer sessions, Baytek’s ‘Rise’ EP is also the beginning of something beautiful for this fresh new talent. Exciting stuff.
