Though she’s been a huge part of Sydney and Australia’s music scene for a number of years now, it’s hard to believe that Rainbow Chan is only just about to release her debut album, ‘Spacings’. To coincide with what is an absolutely momentous occasion for Chan and her fans, she’s announced a full tour to all of Australia’s major cities – it doesn’t get any better.
With ‘Spacings’’ latest cut ‘Work’ dropping last week alongside a high tempo dance video, we’re following all of Rainbow’s moves super closely so we can bust them out in the club when the time is oh so right. The success of ‘Nest’, and ‘Last’, both taken from the forthcoming album demonstrate just how much the Australian public loves her sound, her voice, and her presence in general.
With the release on the horizon, Rainbow gave us a little poetic insight into what it means to her:
“To love wholly is to accept that loss is a part of this act. The possibility of a spectacular demise hangs over what we cherish the most. Falling in eventuates in falling out. What remains is a hollow, an indent, a trace. Even between the closest entities lies an insoluble distance. Our intimacies are nestled here like the warmth between our lips before a kiss, or the growing space between us as you leave me.”
