Astral People Are Half a Decade Old and They’re Keen To Party!

If you were to look back at the last five years and list the top 5 shows you’ve been to in that time, no doubt the name Astral People is in there somewhere. The Sydney-based party organisers and artist management extraordinaire have been bringing us homegrown and international talent for nearly half a decade now, and in usual form, they’re pretty keen to celebrate with a full takeover of Oxford Art Factory.

With the full reveal last week of V MoVement Sydney’s stacked lineup of shows, Astral’s 5th birthday is sure to add to what will be an absolutely huge week October 19-23. “Playing host to some of the musicians who have appeared in Astral’s story over the years,” the lineup boasts artists Wave Racer, Polographia, Cliques, and Preacha from their own roster, and homegrown heavyweights like Baro – appearing for the first time in NSW with his full band, Mall Grab, Winston Surfshirt, The Possé, Andy Garvey, Love Bombs, Sea Breeze and Mira Boru, who are all keen to get down and share in the fun to be had.

Having brought the likes of Snakehips, SHIGETO, XXYYXX, Action Bronson, Yung Lean, Stormzy and way more to our shores, nurturing Dro Carey, Roland Tings, Basenji and way more into the artists they are now, and putting on the ever-successful OutsideIn Festival and Summer Dance, it’s hard to imagine a Sydney without Astral People. While the scene has suffered undeniably with the introduction of the lockout laws, Astral has always been there rain or shine to share in the good times, and the even better tunes.

Check the Facebook event here, grab your tickets here, and get ready to get down on October 22. Make sure you jump on ‘em quick too, everyone and their nana is going to want to be getting in on the birthday fun. Hip hip hooray Astral! We can’t wait.
