It’s around this time of the year that everyone starts really thinking about what they’re doing for New Year’s. Is someone having a house party? Do I go out to clubs? Maybe I should just have a quiet one? Am I hitting a festival? While there are plenty going on around Sydney, more and more festivals are popping up elsewhere, begging another question – do I fly somewhere else for my New Year’s? Well, we’ve got maybe the biggest piece of news since we heard Chance The Rapper would be celebrating the end of 2016 down under, and you might want to sit down.
A$AP Rocky is playing Perth’s Origin NYE.
Oooooh my goodness. Though he was in Australia only back in February of this year, Flacko has continued to cement himself as one of the world’s most varied, consistent, and fresh as f**k rappers – everyone wants to see him even a lil bit. Origin NYE have somehow managed to score him as an exclusive act though, so we won’t be able to see his stylings anywhere this year other than Perth’s Claremont Showgrounds.
He joins an already stacked lineup, which includes another Origin NYE exclusive performance by Die Antwoord. They’re pulling out all the stops for what should be an absolutely monster NYE celebration, which also happens to be their 10th birthday. Double the reason to celebrate, and no doubt double the fun.
Tickets are into their second release, and we’re sure to see a surge in flight prices after this news, so be quick or be mad.
