Apple Looking To Purchase Competing Streaming Service ‘Tidal’

The Wall Street Journal has reported that Apple is currently engaged in talks in an attempt to acquire music streaming giant Tidal.

“The talks are still ongoing and may not result in a deal,” a source, who is “familiar with the matter” told the paper, which also wrote: “Apple is exploring the idea of bringing on Tidal to bolster its Apple Music service.”

This doesn’t seem like such a bad idea considering that Tidal has exclusive streaming rights to some of the biggest pop stars worldwide, along with things like Beyonce’s Lemonade, Prince’s catalogue and Kanye West’s infamous ‘Famous’ video.

If Tidal was to merge to Apple  Music, their long list of prominent artists would be joining the likes of Taylor Swift and Drake, partners with Apple Music from it’s conception.

We will have more as this story develops.
