You’re just casually walking around when you see The Prodigy’s Liam Howlett standing across the road. You’re a producer, and The Prodigy is your favorite act. Crunch time! You chat to your idol; he listens to your music. Nek minnit, and you have been commissioned to officially remix the new Prodigy single. The stuff dreams are made of…
That is exactly what happened to the Ram records’ star Rene LaVice. Up until that point the Canadian was blazing a massive trail through the drum n bass scene, and was indeed considered to be one of the biggest talents to hit the scene in over 5 years. As the buzz and hype about LaVice grew, tastemaker DJs began to regularly support Rene LaVice’s tracks in their sets. From DJ Marky and Sub Focus to Total Science, A Sides, Sigma and TC, the 175bpm elite began to push LaVice’s music, and none so hard as Ram Records boss Andy C who eventually signed him.
Off the back of his killer 2015 LP ‘Playing with Fire’, the Canadian is finally heading to Australia for 4 dates, alongside a flight over to our Kiwi friends in Wellington for what should be one of the year’s best drum n bass tours. Oh and check out LaVice’s killer remix of The Prodigy’s ‘Rebel Radio’ below… it’s good.
