Some not-so-feel-good news for fans of the virtual band Gorillaz has been doing the rounds on social media as of late, as band co-creator Jamie Hewlett shared with followers via (a fan based) Instagram: “New GORILLAZ is special, really fuckin special. Can’t be rushed. 2017, yo.”

Catch that last part there? It looks like instead of seeing the 2016 release we were expecting, we’ll all have to wait until 2017 to get out mitts on the 5th studio album; which is now set to be the first release in six years. It’s likely that we will hear more about this album as we run closer to the new 2017 slated release date, but for those waiting out to see new things from 2D, Hobbs, Niccals and Noodle; Don’t hold your breath.
