LISTEN: Horowitz shares The Drip EP in full

Sydney golden boy Horowitz has finally dropped his brand new EP on his Soundcloud – titled The Drip.

You may remember the name from our recent Stoney Roads party at The Chippendale Hotel, but you have not heard such an excellently produced, and diverse, range of techno tracks from a Sydney-sider in a while.

Title track The Drip takes some nicely arpeggiated synths, and pairs it with an absolutely thumping percussion line. The horns that seep through as the track progresses give this effort another dimension of appeal, and it definitely wouldn’t be a stranger in an Ibiza resident set.

The next track, Flex – a collaboration between Horowitz and Platform 19 – takes the heavy brass notes from the previous offering, and flips it into an early-hours romper. With the aforementioned percussion still present, Horowitz and Platform 19 create a nice droning track with huge ups and huge downs.

Deep Pan Man is slightly more ‘evil’. It’s that track that sits right in the middle of a set where a crowd begins to drift concentration from the act, and brings their attention right back. The vocal sample cutting through the bass-y and swirling production – a simply, yet very effective track to get everybody dancing.

The continuity of a very heavy 4×4 kick throughout the whole EP is a very strong point for Horowitz, as well as the overall dark and clubby feeling that emanates across the 3 tracks. Not to ignore the 2 very impressive remixes from CSMNT61 and Unknown Associates, the former creating an awesome acid-filled rolling track, with the latter a more heavy and bass house-y effort.
