Melbourne radio selector Bevin Campbell has dropped an exclusive mix of experimental electronic and hip hop music ahead of Take The Plunge Radio Festival.
Campbell’s been showcasing up and comers since 2002 through PBS 106.7, Melbourne’s community radio station aimed at giving a platform to local musical talent. Fittinglym he’s given us over an hour of early 2000’s vibes.
Speaking on the mix, Campbell says:
“Going back to my roots, a time when music ceased being a hobby and became an obsession. A time when ninja tune, warp, replex and the like reigned supreme and blew our collective minds. herein are some of my favourite records from the early to mid 2000s, 125 minutes, 35 tracks, 70 through 200bpm, from hip hop, to beats, to grime, dubstep, idm, acid, experimental and jungle, one take, mistakes and all.
hope you enjoy, much love.”
Take The Plunge is going from May 16-29 and is a drive aimed at raising money to help keep the completely independent station PBS 106.7 running. You can grab some more info on it and donating here.
Have a listen to the mix below and tell us what you think!
