A very rare, vintage XL Recordings jacket is currently up for grabs on Ebay.
The jacket – courtesy of Eamon Downes from Liquid – created as a thank you from XL Recordings to any of it’s artists that hit the UK Top 20 back in the day – less than 20 were ever made. Liquid’s release ‘Sweet Harmony’ on XL Recordings in 1992 did just that, therefore, both Downes and his partner Shane Heneghan received one of these jackets.
One quarter of a century on it seems about the right time for Downes to pass on the baton to the highest bidder. You’ve got until the 18th of April to place a bid but be ready to fork out over $750AUD to go home with the goods. All proceeds will be going to the SANDS Foundation (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society).
According to Ebay, the jacket sticks true to “its early 90’s rave authenticity” with “a stash zip pocket in the back of the jacket (for putting your money and stuff in.. yeah right lol)”.
Get those bids in for a good cause, and a truly dope jacket.
