Pacific Heights or Devin Abrams, formerly of Shapeshifter the Kiwi DNB lords, has put together an ambient mixtape, showcasing some experimental sounds that I can assure you, aren’t DNB.

“A Journey Into Stillness” is a lucid mix takes you on a ride, tugging at the heart strings and putting you in a place of contemplation. The nature sounds in conjunction with the deep slow vocals meld into something you can really relax to.

It has the odd slightly more housey beat like at around the 35 minute mark. But the focus is really the ambience and slow builds into mild climaxes which keep you slightly wanting more, and not overly stimulated.

Pacific Heights has recently been kicking off, having just released his single “Buried By The Burden feat. Louis Baker” which has amassed close to 100, 000 views on Spotify.

The mixtape comes ahead of his upcoming album The Stillness which is set for release on May 27 through Create/Control.
