You Can Turn Human Ashes into Vinyl Records

In what is arguably the strangest thing I’ve read all month, you can use human ashes to create Vinyl records.

UK company Vinyly has birthed the idea, allowing anyone who wishes to use their loved one’s ashes in the creation process of vinyl making so they can – as their company motto suggests – “Live on beyond the groove”.

The price for immortalising your dead mate/lover/family member certainly ain’t cheap, starting at £3,000 (or $5,600 for us Aussie battlers), and reaching upwards of £10,000 for coordinated funeral services. Woah.

The company was birthed by a man named Jason Leach, the founder the EDM group and label Subhead back in the 90s. Leach says “When the album that is life finally reaches the end, wouldn’t it be nice to keep that record spinning for eternity?”

Well, it would be nice, Jase, thank you for bringing this into our world.
