AlunaGeorge Is Performing Live Inside A Popular Video Game

… Yeah so the annual Norweigan tech conference, The Gathering, kicks off over the weekend with a live concert. AlunaGeorge, Lemaitre & Broiler are fitting the bill, however this year they will play in both the physical world and in the world of Minecraft.

Swedish game designer Markus Persson created Minecraft in 2011 and has since exploded into the hearts of kids, a sprinkling of adults, and apparently, electronic music fans. This concert marking the first live concert in the gaming world.

Basically how it’s going to work is while the acts play live on stage a team of the game’s best will control avatars of the performers live on the games platform, matching every move the performers make while the sound broadcasts to the players headphones.  Not stopping there, the ‘live’ show has been advertised in the game via virtual billboards and flyers. Promising to provide a dark, steamy room not dissimilar to the physical world, the virtual venue will only have enough room to accomodate 2000 to 3000 people. So hurry and get your tickets folks! Because this is going to be an absolute stomper and a first for the live music industry.

So hurry and get your tickets folks because this kicks off today and is definitely going to be an absolute stomper! (Both physically and digitally).

For now, enjoy these awkward moments from the 2013 Minecon.
