Shock Jock Alan Jones Chats To Lockout Laws Hero Matt Barrie

Shock jock Alan Jones who casts shade at most everything has become the most surprising candidate to knock back the NSW lockout laws that have crushed any nightlife culture in our once internationally renowned city.

In a chat this morning on his Breakfast program Alan outlined the timeline behind the tragic events that led to the death of Thomas Kelly in 2012 by his killer Thomas Loveridge, who was never admitted to any venues in Kings Cross that now face archaic laws.

Furthering the case against the ‘crazy politicians’ he chatted to Matt Barrie, the catalyst behind the almost revolutionary movement to ask the Mike Baird Government to reconsider their stance on the lockout laws including;

  • not being able to enter a venue at 1:30am
  • discontinued service of alcohol at 3:00am
  • bottleshops to close at 10pm.

In it he talks of the almost childish way the public are being punished for the action of a few individuals and how as an adult he can’t pick up even a bottle of wine after visiting the theatre on any given night, a removal of his and many peoples rights.

They aren’t the only ones speaking out against these laws that haven’t addressed the root of the problem with plenty of Australian DJs toting their careers as evidence of a necessity of Sydney nightlife.

A lot of truth is discussed in the 15 minute or so chat, check it out here and be sure to attend the next Reclaim The Streets rally as well as hit ‘like’ on the Keep Sydney Open Facebook page.
