Amirali Live Guestmix at FluxFM, Berlin

Since his breakout into the electronic music world in 2012, the Iranian-born Canadian artist Amirali has spread his wings far and wide. He’s quickly grown from young newcomer among the Crosstown Rebels crew to world renowned artist and founder of the Dark Matters label/visual project. He’s been remixed by the likes of MK and Deetron, and he’s one of the rare producers/DJs who is also a vocalist.

Recorded live before his Halloween performance at Watergate, Amirali’s guestmix for FluxFM opens with his track “Fearful Stay“, the debut release on Dark Matters. From there he plays a brilliant melody by Roman Flugel called “Heartbreak Kids“, followed by Midland’s haunting dub remix of “Rust” by Akase.

Amirali maintains his focus on dreamy keys with Vessels’ “Elliptic” (Alex Banks remix), before transitioning to the dramatic reverberations of phon.O’s “" target="_blank">Whi5tleblower.” From there he goes even deeper with Inigo Kennedy’s “" target="_blank">Lullaby“, and then picks up the energy again in the synthy syncopations of Patrice Bäumel’s remix of  “Parallel Worlds” by Someone Outside.

He closes gently with “The Hazy Path to Misunderstanding“, a recent release on Dark Matters by Aboutface, remixed by Tin Man. Overall, an emotive, seamless performance from one of the premier movers-and-shakers in the industry.
