Okay, so it may have been nearly three full years since our boy Flume dropped his game-changing debut album, but it’s not as if he’s been laying low. On top of his hectic touring schedule, earlier this year he released his first new original single since the album, ‘Some Minds’ ft. Andrew Wyatt. Now, he’s unleashed a dazzling two-hour Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. The long-awaited mix features some of the slickest, most well-curated electronic beats (Jon Hopkins, Amon Tobin, Jamie xx), some seriously solid hip hop choices (Knxwledge, Vic Mensa, Vince Staples, Kanye West), a handful of remixes, and of course, a smattering of the artist’s own songs weaved throughout.

It’s easy to assume that artists who make great music have great taste in music, but this is seriously next level. Even if you don’t dig Flume that much, this is still well worth a listen.

So slap on the headphones, turn up the volume, and enjoy the sweet, sweet, Flume-approved beats.
