Check Out The First ‘Breakthrough Producer’ Nominees For The Stoney Roads Awards

We’re excited to announce dance music curators V MoVement are on board to present the ‘Breakthrough Producer Of The Year’ Award which will be revealed at the Stoney Roads Awards night on Friday the 23rd of October 2015 – don’t worry we’ll be giving away some passes to the party.

The break though award nominees represent a number of producers in Australia that are on the fringe to bigger things through their persistence in creative endeavour and exciting output and here are our first three!

Last year it was young upstart Just A Gent who nabbed the award and a strong indicator of the kind of talent blossoming throughout the Australia dance music scene.

Here are your first nominees for V MoVement’s ‘Breakthrough Producer Of The Year’ award.

Kučka

Kucka

It’s not unusual to hear Perth based producer and vocalist Kučka’s name being thrown down as Australia’s answer to AlunaGeorge. Kučka’s rise and rise in 2015 comes down to a combination of imaginative originals released through her seven track unconditional EP, as well as an exciting collaborations with Cosmo’s Midnight.

Porsches

The Sweat It Out signed Sydney duo announced themselves emphatically onto the scene with their extremely addictive and subtly repetitive single “Horses” that infiltrated everywhere from discovery blogs to commercial radio stations alike. The duo have been building their discography through a joint work with Kilter, a remix of Asta and recently a new single dubbed “Karate” that has us waxing on and off.

JOY.

Joy

It’s impossible to not recognise the breathy ethereal stylings of Brisbane born, Sydney based producer JOY. The 17 year old producer has been exciting her growing fan base through a combination of catchy originals, live recorded sessions at home and studios alike, as well as some sultry covers of her favourite artists.

Stay tuned for the next instalment of ‘Breakthrough Producer Of The Year’ nominees and be sure to lock down your five picks in the public voted ‘Producer Of Year’ award here.

The Stoney Roads Awards are presented by V MoVement and have been brought to life with the help of our friends at Absolut Botanik, Apple Thief Cider, Jameson, Pistonhead Lager, SOL REPUBLIC, and ZANEROBE.
