Is The Chemical Brothers ‘Born In The Echoes’ Their Best Album Yet?

After successfully co-hosting the Australian launch of ‘Born In The Echoes’ with EMI and much anticipation, The Chemical Brothers album is finally here for all to enjoy!

20 years on and we see their eighth studio album continue to include a list of new and familiar collaborations. Born In The Echoes sees Q-Tip (Go) and Ali Love (EML Ritual) return, as well as first time visitors to the studio – St. Vincent (Under Neon Lights), Cate Le Bon (Born In The Echoes) and Beck (Wide Open – his first new music since his Grammy winning album Morning Phase).

The Chemical Brothers have concocted the perfect mix of forward thinking experimental without neglecting the classic UK rave sound that we’ve all come to love and grow attached to in a timeless manner. This is strangely a breathe of fresh air to the dance music arena, with the old guard showing the new how it’s done time and time again.

In terms of standout tracks, it’s hard to go passed picturing the intensity of “Go” and imagining it played in front of a big crowd, The Chem Bro’s raw feel of “Sometimes I Feel So Deserted”, or the minimal and building European drive of “EML Ritual”.

All in all it has a lot of good going for it with a portion of radio-friendly goodness tucked alongside droning experimental electronic music, a formula The Chemical Brothers have almost perfected over the years.

With the new album of course comes the news that they’re set to take their incomparable, hallucinogenic “Don’t Think” live show back on the road… And if you’re lucky enough for it to eventually hit your town, Don’t miss it. I’m just going to say it… It’s equally as good as Daft Punks ‘Alive’ show they did eight years ago!
