Well we’ve heard about the DJ game show with Simon Cowell, now Zac Efron, Emily Ratajkowski (hubba hubba!) and Wes Bentley are coming together for a DJ movie dubbed ‘We Are Your Friends’.

The Story (or lack of)

 

The premise of the movie is based on some dudes who were party promoters with one particular friend who’s trying to ‘find your voice’ and become a DJ/producer. I could EASILY go on a rant, so I will. This story panders to the whole ‘EDM’ movement in America. Any person with the slightest bit of knowledge will cringe at this cheesy story line.

The specific moment where the cheese hits the fan

 

‘Things get complicated, however, when Cole starts falling for James’ much younger girlfriend, Sophie (Ratajkowski). With Cole’s forbidden relationship intensifying and his friendships unraveling, he must choose between love, loyalty, and the future he is destined for.’

But let’s face it… There’s got to be positive in this mess;

Pros:

 

This movie is very obviously made for the tween market and what if it help inspire some new people to produce? The more people involved in dance music (NOT EDM) the better.

Classixx is meant to have been commissioned to create an EDM banger so we’re hanging out for that one.

Cons:

 

Why Justice… WHY?! did you allow for your track to be sync’d to this movie! No amount of money should have been acceptable for this to happen!! Hope this doesn’t ruin a classic for us.
