Australian Bush Doof Shames Litterbugs With ‘Aftermath’ Video

Bush doofs are the ultimate dream for a lot of music fans, an escape from the rat race to enjoy electronic music with other like minded individuals in the wilderness while celebrating the environment and sustainability.

Unfortunately it’s not all peace, love and unity with campers more often than not leaving behind the thing they loathe, waste.

As it has been for the Maitreya festival, a four day bush doof over the weekend held at the Wooroonook Lake near the town of Charlton in Central Victoria headlined by Audiojack and more that saw an absolute tip-worth of crap left behind. From couches to tents to copious amounts of nangs, generators, bottles… it was all there.

Organisers have gone on the front foot by taking responsibility and uploading a clip showing the apocalyptic aftermath and interview with “Tim” from the Charlton footy club who’s day along with others was spent cleaning up the mess and has some stern words for punters;

“Fairs fair, you wouldn’t do this at your mum and dads place or your own place, DONT do it at our lake”

Why the shaming? Understandably organisers are not cool with rubbish and encourage everyone to be sure sure to bin it with supplied bags and especially to take care of cigarette butts as stated on the official Maitreya site;

Please become aware of the problem, cigarette butts cause massive environmental damage around the globe, and we spend days on our hands and knees around the site picking them up after the event.

For organisers and locals to be joining forces hopefully they can squash this selfish behaviour for future events and other events like it.

PSA: PUT RUBBISH IN BINS, TAKE HOME SHIT YOU BROUGHT
