Zane Lowe Leaving BBC Radio For Bigger Things?

In big news, radio personality Zane Lowe is leaving BBC after a 12 year stint for an even bigger project! A dude that has been labeled as one of the most influential ears in the UK seems to be doing a ‘transfer’ of sorts that’s got us very curious.

The New Zealand-born Lowe is set to air his final show on March 5th, to then move into an integral role in the formation of Apple’s Beats-powered streaming service.

In standard Apple fashion, there are little details on what the new service that Lowe is fronting. Could it be a digital radio station or is it more a role involving curation? Hell, there’s even one rumour that Apple is also considering starting its own label and Lowe would be there A&R – the label to end all other labels!!

Beats currently have a music streaming service that combines the power of human curation with technology to deliver “the right online music at the right time.” Sounds super techy. Whatever Lowe’s new role will be, it must be pretty big for the man to leave such a big job as is!

Those wondering who will fill the big guys shoes, they’ve got Annie Mac stepping into the slot and no doubt delivering the goods.
