Well that was unexpected! For once it isn’t some cheesy commercial DJ (f#$k you Guetta) that will be appeal to the masses being announced as the first act of Tomorrowland. To the contrary, the Belgium based behemoth has thrown a huge curveball and booked The National Orchestra of Belgium under the alias of Symphony of Unity.
Candy ravers will be scratching their heads a little with Swiss conductor Stefan Blunier scheduled to perform with the orchestra on the final (Sunday) night of the three day affair.
So what brought on this surprise?
There’s a slight air of animosity brewing between the Tomorrowland promoters and DJs with ID&T founder Duncan Stutterheim defiantly quoting to Dutch publication Quote Net:
“DJs should really ask for less, their fans deserve that. It’s stupid to ask so much, because you miss a large part of your fan base.”
As we say in Aus, that’s a fair shake of the sauce bottle if I’d ever seen it! Moar curveballs pls Mr Duncan Stutterheim!
